    IELTS Speaking Part 1: Concentration

    The questions

Asked in this order, in one sitting.

    1. Is it easy for you to concentrate?
    2. What distracts you most?

    How to answer it

Answer with conditions, not character: where you concentrate well, what time of day, what breaks it. Naming the distraction concretely — notifications, a flatmate's TV, background chatter in a café — is worth more than saying you are easily distracted.

    What moves the band

    • Focus lexis: get in the zone, lose my train of thought, tune it out, in short bursts.

These are candidate recalls. These are questions reported by test-takers after their exams, not official or leaked IELTS material. Wording varies by test version, location and memory. Use them for timed practice — never as a prediction of what you will be asked.
