Questions 3-10
An address, a postcode and a phone number in a row (3-5), which is where dictation accuracy decides the band: all three are spelled or read out, so transcribe rather than interpret. Questions 6 and 7 accept several wordings, while 8 and 10 want the figure exactly as spoken, percent sign included.

What your score on this section actually tells you
One section is 10 of the 40 marks in the paper, so it is a sample, not a band score. What it is good for is diagnosis: look at which of the question types above you lost marks in and whether the same type has hurt you before.
