    CELPIP is the easy one: your level IS your CLB, skill by skill — CELPIP 8 in Speaking is CLB 8 in Speaking, done. PTE Core needs the table, since it's scored 10–90 per skill and the bands aren't round numbers. Either way, your overall CLB is the lowest of your four skills.

    CELPIP & PTE Core to CLB — FAQ

    Yep. CELPIP General (and CELPIP General LS, used for citizenship) map straight onto CLB — CELPIP 9 is CLB 9, full stop. It's the only one of the four IRCC-approved English and French tests that skips a conversion table entirely.

    PTE Core is Pearson's Canada-specific English test. IRCC added it to the approved list in 2025, and it's treated exactly like IELTS and CELPIP for Express Entry, the Post-Graduation Work Permit, and citizenship applications.
