Describe a place outside your hometown that other people should visit

    The cue card

Describe a place you have visited outside your hometown that other people should visit.

    How to answer it

The recommendation is the point — the card asks why others should go, so structure it as advice: who would like it, when to go, what to skip. That framing fills two minutes far more naturally than a chronological account of your own trip.

    What moves the band

    • Recommending language: it's well worth, I'd steer clear of, if you only do one thing, go out of season.
    • The candidate who reported this did not preserve the Part 3 questions, so prepare the usual travel follow-ups: tourism's effects, how travel has changed, domestic versus foreign holidays.

These are candidate recalls. These are questions reported by test-takers after their exams, not official or leaked IELTS material. Wording varies by test version, location and memory. Use them for timed practice — never as a prediction of what you will be asked.
