How to answer it
Name one teacher in the first sentence and the whole set becomes easy, because questions one, two and four can all be answered through that person. The fourth question, "what kind of teacher do you prefer", is the only one asking for a general view, and the strongest version of it is a preference that costs you something — strict teachers rather than kind ones, and here is why. The third question does not need a yes; a clear no with a reason is a complete answer.
What moves the band
- Describe teaching, not personality: she made us explain our answers, he never gave us the answer straight away.
- Past simple for the memory, present for the preference — keep the two apart and the grammar looks after itself.
