Should children start school very young or at age seven?

The question

Some people think children should start school at a very young age, while others believe they should not start until they are at least seven. Discuss both views and give your own opinion.

How to answer it

Separate school from childcare — most arguments for starting early are really arguments about working parents, and saying so sharpens the essay immediately. Then argue on what young children actually gain: structured play and social skills yes, formal literacy at four, less clearly. A specific position works well here, such as early attendance but late formal instruction.

What moves the band

Naming a real country's system (Finland starts at seven) is a legitimate, checkable example.
Childhood lexis: formal instruction, play-based learning, school readiness, developmental stage.
